SkyMarshall Arts
SkyMarshall Arts is the creative project and stage name of Norwegian musician and digital artist Eirik Hafskjold. Active since the mid-1990s, SkyMarshall Arts is known for electronic music influenced by video games, film, retro computing, and gaming culture, particularly within the Commodore 64 and Amiga remix communities. The project encompasses original music, game-music remixes, digital art, and other multimedia projects distributed through various online platforms.
During the late 1990s, SkyMarshall Arts was active in the tracker-music scene under the alias Dj Dark, publishing music through online communities including the now-defunct Trax in Space. Music from this period has been preserved and catalogued by The Mod Archive, the largest online repository dedicated to tracker music.
SkyMarshall Arts became associated with retro-gaming communities through original works such as Forever Gamer, first released on Newgrounds, and through contributions to the C64 and Amiga remix scene. Several remixes are featured on Remix64, where releases including The Lost Patrol, Space Debris, and Turrican (Original Cut) achieved notable chart positions.
A recurring theme throughout the project's music is nostalgia for classic video games, particularly from the 1980s and 1990s. Since its establishment, SkyMarshall Arts has released numerous albums, remixes, and community projects, all of which have been made available free of charge - which it still is today.
