Polly Pocket
Polly Pocket is a toy line of inch-tall dolls and accessories sold by Mattel.
Chris Wiggs had the basic concept in 1983 influenced by Torquil Normans ideas for minature playsets. At this point it was a simpl wooden stick figure that did not bend. The team of designers at Bluebird and later at Mattel then developed the concept into the finnished product sold in shops. It was first sold to the public in 1989. Between 2012 and 2018, it was not sold in the US and declined in other countries, with Brazil being the only country to sell the products throughout that period.
Concerns due to loose magnets and the small size, millions of Polly Pocket toys were recalled.
