Navigate Your Fitness Journey

Built by instructors, for instructors

Twenty years of making music that teaches

Fitness Radio didn't start as a streaming service. It started in 2003 with a problem nobody had solved: commercial music isn't built to teach to.

True 32-Count Phrasing

Every track phrase-aligned so the count holds from the first beat to the last. This is the work we've been doing since 2003.

Genuinely Gapless

Enjoy peace of mind with 100% licensed music for all your fitness classes.

Fully Licensed

100% licensed music for commercial use in your classes. No takedowns, no gray areas, no risk to your facility.

Our Journey to Fitness Radio

How we got here

In 2003, we started reworking commercial music so that group fitness instructors could actually teach to it.

If you've never taught a class, that sentence may not land. If you have, you know exactly what it means. Group fitness choreography is built on the 32-count phrase. Instructors cue in 32 counts. Participants move in 32 counts. When a movement changes, when the intensity lifts, when everybody turns — all of it hangs on that phrase staying intact.

Commercial music isn't made that way. Intros run odd lengths. Bridges break the count. Tempos drift. And the gap between one track and the next drops the room out of rhythm at exactly the moment an instructor is cueing a transition. So instructors compensated — counting over the music, cutting classes short to match a track, re-cueing mid-movement and hoping nobody noticed.

We thought the music should do that work instead.

Instructor Music — 2016

By 2016 the method had matured into a real catalog, and the business was reorganized as Instructor Music Inc. in Redmond, Oregon. The premise was simple: instructors shouldn't have to be audio engineers. Since then, more than 13,000 instructors and gyms have used InstructorMusic.com — step, HIIT, dance, strength, cycle, senior fitness, aqua.

32Count Fitness — streaming

Downloads solved part of the problem. Then instructors asked for something else: can I just stream it? 32CountFitness.com answered that, and building it taught us the hardest technical lesson of the whole twenty years — real gapless playback. Most platforms don't attempt it because most listeners don't need it. Instructors do. A half-second gap at a track change is a class that loses the count.

Fitness Radio — now

For twenty years we picked the music. Instructors told us what they needed, we produced it, and they taught to what we made. Fitness Radio flips that. Instructors build their own playlists — their songs, at the tempos their class actually needs — and the phrasing engine does the rest.

Our Mission

The music should serve the instructor

Not the other way around. That's the whole idea, and it hasn't changed in twenty years.

Instructors have enough to manage. Cueing, form correction, energy, safety, the person in the back row who's struggling. The music should be one thing they don't have to work around — already phrased, already at the right tempo, already ready to teach to.

We've never taken outside investment. Every version of this has been funded by instructors choosing to pay for something that made their classes better. That shapes what we build: we answer to the people teaching the classes, and to nobody else.

Guiding Principles

What We Stand On

Core Values

Empowering Fitness Instructors

We build what instructors ask for

The senior fitness catalog exists because instructors teaching older adults kept asking for it. Custom playlists exist because instructors kept asking to build their own. Every meaningful feature we've shipped started as a support email.

We answer our own support

When you email us, you're emailing the person who built it. That's not a tactic — it's how we've learned everything we know about what instructors actually need, and we're not giving it up.

We do the hard technical work

Phrase alignment and true gapless playback are genuinely difficult engineering problems. We solve them so you never have to think about them. We're also developing an instructor-controlled adaptive tempo system, where the music follows your live movement rather than the other way around — technology that is patent pending.

Stop working around your music

Fitness Radio is where instructors start working with it instead. Build your playlist, set your tempo, and teach.
